House Groups
Grow your faith!
At Holy Trinity we have a network of small groups within the church
that we call 'House groups'. These are places where we can talk with
others about our faith, ask those questions we puzzle over, explore
the bible and grow in friendship and support with a group of other
church members.
There are a number of small groups which meet on different days and
at different places. If you would like to try a group, ring the Church
Office and they will put you in touch with the group leader.
Tuesday (1st and 3rd) Bible Study Group
We are a group of people who meet on 1st and 3rd Tuesday evenings,
at 7.30pm, for Bible Study and friendship, not necessarily in that
order!! This autumn we are starting one of the 'York courses' on the
subject of The Lord's Prayer. These courses have a CD to hear, with
important people like the wife of the Archbishop of York, a couple
of Bishops and other interesting folk.
Then we will have a discussion about what they have said. We would like to invite you to join us, so please contact the Church Office, and they will put you in touch with the groups leader who will tell you who's home we are meeting in that week, and let you have a copy of the booklet. There is no cost involved apart from your time and effort. In the spring, we plan to use another of these courses entitled 'When I Survey ...'. We would love you to join us.
Book Club
The Monday lunchtime group is a monthly book club which explores a
book of the bible one month and a novel which raises important issues
for people of faith the next. We have explored Mark’s gospel and the
letters of Peter in the bible and the novels: The Shack, Plain Truth
and The Vicar of Bagdad
Calling all Mums
Mums who want to grow their faith and also help
their toddlers grow in faith and play meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays
in the month 10.30am to 11.30am. Mums will look at the gospels over
coffee while our Mother’s Union look after the toddlers who play,
learn new songs and have a bible story. This is a very informal group
for those who have never done bible study before as well as those
who have! You do not need to have a baby or Toddler to come along!
