The Church Interior would have red Ruabon (Wales) brick walls, heavy
timber beams and rafters, pitch pine floor and pews. A coke boiler
heated the church with water pipes secured around the lower walls.
This system was replaced in 1959 by Electric Pendant Fittings, providing
both heating and Lighting..
1889 July 3rd
The Foundation Stone was laid by Mrs Annis Lucy Formby, wife of Col
John Formby JP, in the presence of the Lord Bishop of Liverpool, Dr
J,C Ryle. If Pictures are available we will publish them here on the
Web site.
1890 Our First Service.
Trinity Sunday, June 1st 8am. Followed by Matins at 11 am. The Children’s
service at 3pm followed by Evensong at 7pm. Services taken by the
Vicar, Revd, John Brooke Richardson. A very special day.
1892.
Holy Trinity Church was Consecrated on July 8th by the Bishop of Liverpool.
1896
The Building work completed seating capacity was 524. The Nave, Chancel,
Transepts and Belfry were consecrated by the Bishop of Liverpool on
the 12th May 1896. Pew rents: 1 Guinea per single sitting and 15 shillings
for each whole pew for 8 persons.
