The Tennis Club was established in 1906 when it consisted of two grass courts laid alongside the bowling green. The initial cost of laying the courts was £36. In 2001 all 4 courts were resurfaced at a cost of £38,000!!! They were re-furbished in 2008 at a cost of £6500.

Court use and hours of play

Photograph of Tennis players at Holy Trinity tennis clubMembers can play Monday – Saturday between 8am -10.45pm. On Sundays the Club is open for play between 12.00pm and 6pm. During the summer, team league matches take precedence on ALL FOUR COURTS from 6.30pm until conclusion of match. Wednesday evening from 7.00pm is a club night for senior members. Saturday afternoon is also for senior members between 1.30pm and 4.30pm. Junior members are able to play at all other times. The Tennis Club is closed on CHRISTMAS DAY AND GOOD FRIDAY.

Junior members
Junior members who have attained the appropriate standard may be invited to attend senior club events. Recognized tennis attire and proper tennis shoes need to be worn at all times.

Every Saturday during the season there is a ‘fun hour’ for Junior tennis players from 5-6pm and Junior tennis practice from 6-8pm. All juniors are welcome and there is adult supervision. Junior matches are usually played on Saturday mornings. Holy Trinity operates a child protection policy which includes checking by the CRB.

Visitors
Visitors to the Club must be introduced by a full member and are welcome to attend but if you don't know anyone in the club phone Jeanette Heague on 01704 833234. Playing as a visitor is a good way to decide whether or not to join the club.

Social Events
Events such as Quiz nights; Junior fun nights, ceilidhs; Treasure Hunts; B.B.Qs and a Christmas Party, to name but a few, are held during the year.
